SHYC 2019 SUMMER COMMUNIQUE – To sum up the 2018/2019 season, we made a lot of progress on many fronts. Firstly, we made a greater effort to support a more robust social program. We instituted a club sponsored happy hour every Friday which was a huge success. We will continue these weekly happy hours next season. We also sponsored other special events namely, Art Basel, The Boat Show, The Super Bowl and the Annual Meeting. All of these were catered and everyone who participated had a lot of fun. Our effort to promote football weekends, however, was not as successful and we will be discontinuing those activities. All was not lost as we purchased popcorn and beer keg machines which are still enjoyed by the Club membership today.
SHYC 2018 FALL COMMUNIQUE – ‘Tis the season where most of our members return to enjoy the beautiful climate and the best of what the great City of Miami Beach has to offer. As usual, Art Basel kicked off the season with a bang. All the best artists and art galleries from around the world descended on Miami for a weeklong art fair second to none. This year was no different as the City was jam-packed with people from all over the world coming to Miami to enjoy the art scene. For all of you who have not attended one of these events, I highly recommend it!!
SHYC 2018 SUMMER COMMUNIQUE – Considering this is the first Communiqué since I became the President of the Club, I would like to introduce myself for all of you who do not know me or have not met me. I was born and raised in Miami Beach and have been active here in business for most of my adult life. I graduated from Miami Beach Senior High School and went to the University of Florida. I am a builder/developer by trade with a specialty in neighborhood building, the latest of which was the Sunset Harbour area where I developed many of the surrounding businesses, stores, and restaurants. – Scott Robins
